Supporting local art in a contemporary cafe.
Named after Max Ernst’s childhood imaginary friend and later alter-ego, LopLop offers a wonderful wholesome menu and some of the best art the South can offer. Exhibitions change every six weeks or so showcasing a selection of spectacular works by emerging and established local artists. Keep an eye on our ‘News and Events’ page for details of forthcoming exhibitions. You can see some of the art from our exhibitions on the ‘Gallery’ page. As a day time café, LopLop provides a hearty menu with healthy, light lunches, afternoon teas and cakes. The premises were formerly an ‘old fashioned’ English Tea room and LopLop has maintained some of that charm appealing to all generations with it’s homemade cakes, soups, savouries and scones for a delicious Dorset Cream Tea although LopLop has a ‘modern’ twist with a fresh environment and some strangely unique menu options. Whilst maintaining the ‘Tea Room’ genus, LopLop is essentially a contemporary coffee shop with a range of exciting coffees from around the world including the now infamous Ca Phe Chon (weasel) coffee. Many of our menu options are suitable for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs, please see our 'review' page to find out what people think about us! |
